The Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County is a great, non-profit community resource located right here in Concord. Founded in 1996, the organization serves to build community and promote well-being among Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning and Intersex (LGBTQI+) people and allies.
The organization offers a variety of programs and services including counseling, social and support groups, youth groups and summer camps, women’s services, gender voice and more. The Rainbow Center also presents the annual PRIDE festival held in Todos Santos Plaza each June. Throughout the shelter in place period, the Rainbow center has provided ongoing social connection, programming, support groups & education through remote and virtual opportunities.
Rainbow is also currently offering virtual training classes for those interested in gaining a deeper understanding about the LGBTQ community and the issues they face. The two-part series occurs in May and June. For more information, visit rainbowcc.org/virtualtrainings.
Visit Concord will be partnering with the Rainbow Center on ways to foster inclusivity and welcome LGBTQ visitors to our community, as well as supporting the PRIDE festival. You, too, can help this much-needed non-profit group provide a vibrant, supportive, and multigenerational community for LGBTQ youth, adults, and seniors in Contra Costa County through a donation of any amount. Visit Concord and the Rainbow Center thanks you for your support!
