Newhall Community Park offers 126 acres to explore, as well as Paw Patch, a fenced in area where your best friend can run off-leash. The 18 acre John F. Baldwin Park is home to the Baldwin Dog Park for your dogs to stretch out and run free. Both parks have children’s play areas, bocce courts and picnic areas for you and your family (furry family of course) to enjoy!
The 32 mile Iron Horse Regional Trail connects 12 cities, including a little over 3 miles of trail in Concord. The trail connects businesses, parks, schools, and more with spectacular views of landscapes such as Mt. Diablo. Another beautiful outdoor trail to explore is the Contra Costa Canal Trail, one of the most popular trails in the East Bay covering over 20 miles and four cities. Access the trail in Concord at the Willow Pass Community Park and enjoy over 3.5 miles in Concord.
Even on the rainiest of days, or hottest days, you can still step it up at Sunvalley Shopping Center! Doors open two hours prior to stores opening for business to accommodate those who want a head start on their daily fitness routine in a climate controlled environment. Add 1.33 miles to your daily step count when you walk both levels including side corridors. Or keep your route simple by walking the length of the center five times (JCPenney to Sears or Sears to JCPenney) to complete one mile. Enjoy the window shopping too!
