Concord offers multiple art galleries for local art enthusiasts including pops of art that surprise and engage eyes when least expected. This also includes murals in Concord.
Trader Joe’s impresses shoppers with eye catching murals inside their store at Oak Grove Plaza. Shoppers see how the store connecting with their community with painted images of iconic locations like Mt. Diablo, Concord Pavilion and Todos Santos Plaza.
In the new Veranda Shopping Center, Cost Plus also honors its hometown of Concord with a large painted map on the store’s wall.
One of the most treasured murals is on Salvio Street. Hand-painted by Bay Area Muralist Dan Fontes, it depicts a 4th of July street scene in 1894 inspired by an album of Ruth Galindo’s, grand daughter of Concord’s founder.
Another wall in Oak Grove Plaza immediately grabs your attention with its splashes of colorful paint spilling out of three cans. It’s also memorable as it was created to honor Oak Grove Plaza founder David Zimmerman by his daughters.
Right off Clayton Road, the newest addition to Concord's murals, is the special project done by the AP Art Students at Clayton Valley Charter School. The new mural features a lovely vineyard in the background with an old school truck and picnic set up in the bed.
